About our Kindergarten:
Our Kindergarten is a very busy class. We learn so many new things every day. As we learn all about the letters, the sounds they make and how to make word. We also learn lots about numbers, plants and animals. Children get fascinated to learn about life cycles and learn all about how caterpillars become beautiful butterflies
In our classroom, the children are provided with seamless day that that includes an engaging, purposeful play based educational program.
Our catholic school inspires and nurtures strong community of faith, engaged in learning and being compassionate.
We are would love to introduce the tablets to our children and provide them with up-to-date information on how tablets can be beneficial.
About The Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary:
The Sisters belong to the order of The Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Sisters from this order have been in the U.S. since 1948, and in 1962 they established Our Lady of Grace Nursery School and Kindergarten here in Stamford. For over 50 years many thousands of children have been blessed to receive their early education in the loving and nurturing environment provided by these humble and caring Sisters, and all of us here today are very privileged to be a part of the Our Lady of Grace community. For this reason, we ask that all parents become involved in the life of the school, just as the Sisters and the school seek to support each of the families here.
Our Project:
There are many different things that we could do in the classroom if we had a class set of tablets. Having a tablet allows you to get apps from the Amazon App store. Some examples of apps the students could use are explained below: 1.) Starfall: Student can Learn to Read, ABCs and Numbers 2.) Raz Kids: Students can read books on their interest level and reading level. the teachers can customize lessons for their students and track student progress. 3.) Spelling City: Spelling city is an app that allows students to practice their spelling words by playing interactive games and taking practice quizzes.
Our Lady of Grace does not receive any city, state, or diocesan funding, we need to rely on the generosity of parents and benefactors for our necessary fundraising efforts, which directly assist the Sisters and their mission.
