This Season, the Oconomowoc Chamber Orchestra has a wonderful program planned for May 19th, 2018, and continues to be a beacon for local music history through the Chatfield Award and outreach.

On May 19th, we'll perform at least four movements from Lake Tones, Legends & Landscapes by Sigmund Snopek (Pier Adventures - Upper Oconomowoc/Lower Okauchee Lake, Al Capone's Slots, Ice Age Boogie and Meditation on Holy Hill), 'After the Rain' by Diane Wittry, and other classic repertoire. Also, the presentation of the 2018 Chatfield Award to Dave & Betty Reul will take place.

There are opportunities to expand the number of players in the program, complete the orchestration of the other movements from Sigmund's Lake Tones, Legends & Landscapes Series (Walking around Lake Oconomowoc,  Swimming on North Lake,  UnderMids  - Lake Mills,  The Bear Wolf,  Okauchski,  Picnic on Lake Keesus,  Jumping on Pewaukee lake on a hot August day,  Golden Wedding at Okauchee Lake,  Lake Voices,  The Snow on Lake Nashotah,  Lake Serpent of Rock Lake &  Cane Pole and Bobber fishing on Golden Lake) as well as potentially bringing in award winning composer/conductor/educator Diane Wittry
( http://dianewittry.com) to attend the event, and to support the ongoing Chatfield Instrument Restoration project.

Even if all movements from the Lake Tones series aren't performed in May, it would be good to have the music in hand and completed.

The OCO also recently enabled a violin from the historic local Chatfield workshop (by William P. Moldenhaur of Oconomowoc) to be restored and returned to a community resident who studied with Gladys Chatfield, Frank Chatfield's (Chatfield Award) daughter.

Your support enables talented musicians in our area as well as brings a voice of musical creativity and excellence to our community.

The OCO is a 501c3 organization.

We appreciate your support and hope you'll join us on May 19th 7:00pm at the Oconomowoc Arts Center!
