Ocean of Hope Documentary Film

Donation protected
Every year a dedicated and determined team of paddlers train and compete across the sea while navigating waves, wind, and unknown treachery at races in California, Hawaii, Australia and beyond; this team is called Ocean of Hope.  What was started by one paddler in 2000 to help sarcoma cancer patients has become a team of athletes who train and race all year to help fund second opinion grants for cancer patients seeking access to quality care and specialists. Because sarcoma cancers are difficult to diagnose and treat, proper detection and treatment is paramount in saving lives.

We are raising money to help Gage Hingeley make a documentary film which will tell the story of Ocean of Hope, about the paddlers who give of themselves to help others, and of how the paddlers connect to those struggling with cancer. The short film will be showcased at the South Bay premier of A Date with The Strait at Hermosa Beach Community Theater on February 20th, 2016 at 7pm.

This fundraising campaign will pay for the cost of production, post-production and associated costs of the film showing.  All donated funds from the film premier, and any funds not used for making the film, will be donated to The Sarcoma Alliance and the sea of people affected by cancer that the Alliance helps each year.

Any donation amount is greatly appreciated. Every bit- large or small- helps.
