Help Restore the Oasis Beach

For nearly a decade, the ‘Beach’ in Oasis Community Garden  has been one of the most unexpected places of bliss in Hell’s Kitchen where kids can build sandcastles and watch the fish in our claw-footed bathtub. And grown-ups can kick off their shoes and wiggle their toes in the sand while reading a book from our library and listening to the wind blow through the native grasses.

Our beach needs a facelift. We’ve had major erosion that’s depleted our sand. The tub has sprung a leak and the fish have died. Our Adirondack chairs have spent too much time in the sun.

We’re raising money for new sand, new chairs, materials to repair the tub and new fish and aquatic plants. And maybe a turtle.

We need your help. Let’s get the Oasis Beach in shape for the summer.

$500 for 5 tons of play sand

$45 for tub repair

$60 for fish, plants and a box turtle

$68 for four new resin Adirondack chairs
