Oakhill Families Fire Relief

Hi all. My name is Carrie Atherholt
This past spring I was given the opportunity to complete my teaching degree abroad through the COST program at UGA. I was placed in the gorgeous town of Knysna, South Africa. I lived with an amazing host family from March-May and completed my student teaching in a 4th grade class at Oakhill, a local school. During my time in Knysna I was welcomed with open hearts and arms by many families and teachers at Oakhill. On June 7th a horrific forest fire swept through Knysna causing thousands of residents to evacuate their homes. As fires raged, hundreds of homes were destroyed, leaving many families with no house to come home to or belongings to their name. 
At Oakhill alone, thirty families have found themselves to be homeless and have lost everything. I feel a personal sense of loss that families, teachers, and students that welcomed me and cared for me now have no place to live and must start from scratch. Please help me in raising relief funds to assist Oakhill families in their time of need! Anything helps and would be immensely appreciated!

All funds will be donated directly to Oakhill school's account that has been opened as a source for other families from the community and school as well as donors such as myself and all of you can help in assisting these 30 families in rebuilding their homes. All money made will go directly into this account for the school to distibute. I plan on transferring all funds made into a paypal account which I will then use to directly deposit the money into the Oakhill bank account!
