We wanted to give you all an update with what has been going on recently. Three weeks ago, Kalee went to her fourth (and what was going to be hopefully the final) chemotherapy treatment. Upon arrival she found out she was in fact going to need maximum prescribed number of treatments, as doctors said it would take 4-6 chemotherapy treatments. This would ultimately mean Kalee will have two more rounds of chemo. Kalee received her fifth round today, and will have her sixth in three more weeks. After completion of chemo, she will undergo another PET scan, and upon a clear scan, will have four weeks of radiation.
Kalee wants to thank everyone again for all of your kindness and continued support. It's truly inspiring to have so many people rally around her and join her in this fight.
Kind heart. Fierce mind. Brave spirit.
All our love,
Kalee and Meggan
We wanted to give you an update on some recent changes in her diagnosis and how things are going. For those of you who have not already heard, Kalee's diagnosis has changed a little bit and she has now officially been diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. After conquering a staph infection as a result of her portacath surgery, Kalee has since completed two rounds of chemotherapy. With the change in diagnosis comes a slighter longer chemo (8.5 hours) making it a day-long event. Radiation has also been added to her list of treatments after her chemotherapy has concluded.
Overall, her body has been responding really well, and the hope is that with only two more sessions of chemo, and 4 weeks of radiation, Kalee will be well on her way to beating this.
We want to take the time to thank each and every one of you personally for your amazing kindness and generosity. All of the support has meant the world to Kalee, her family, and me. Words cannot describe how much we are all blessed.
Keep fighting for Team Kalee, and she will keep fighting for you.
