O praise the Lord: Recording in Vienna
Donation protected
Dear friends,
As you already know, I am dedicated mostly to sacred music - and this is my main mission as a composer. It is not easy to dare to make what giants such as Tallis, Bach, Handel, and Parry made, giving us a precious musical heritage that brings us closer to the divine, the beauty, the consolation, and other parameters within which I submit my works. I hope I can say in the future, with all humility, what Isaac Newton said about himself: “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.”
I will shortly describe here some details on this special project - my first official recording - which will take place in Vienna.
The work | The motet is based on Psalm 117: "O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord." It is scored for SATB choir, brass ensemble (2 trumpets, 2 horns, trombone), harp, timpani, and organ.
The recording | With more than 30 musicians, the recording will take place at the beautiful Church of St. Elisabeth, in Vienna.
All donations over €10 will have, in return, the sheet music (digital file) of the work.
Please consider supporting this project, being part of this fundamental step of my trajectory as a composer.
Cordially,
W. Ferdinand
