CARON’S HOMEGOING FUND

My name is Herlisha Adams and I have a ten year old little boy named Caron Adams who was diagnosed in 2010 with a brain tumor. The brain tumor is called a Pilomyxoid Astrocytoma . In 2010 Caron was complaining of a headache after a fall on the school playground. I immediately took him to the E.R and he was sent home diagnosed with a concussion and was told to just let him rest. A month later I heard a loud piercing noise from my family room where my three children were playing. My oldest daughter ran my son Caron up to my room and told me he felt like he couldn't walk. I called 911 and took him downstairs. As we were waiting for the ambulance Caron begin to vomit and he started passing out. He was taken to our neighborhood Hospital in Voorhees New Jersey, the same hospital he was at a month ago. He received an emergency Cat Scan that discovered a tumor the size of a golf ball and extreme bleeding in his brain. He was immediately transported to CHOP where he had to get emergency surgery. As a result of where the brain tumor was located and where the surgery was performed Caron ended up with Chronic Diabetes Insipidus and Hyperthyroidism. Caron was on 33 medications literally fighting for his life everyday. Four years later he goes into the hospital for very bad pain in his leg and was diagnosed with a blood clot in his left leg and now as a result of that extreme pain he now is not able to walk and is bed written. When Caron was receiving therapeutic treatment with anti-coagulants as soon as he started the Lovenox injections around 11 p.m that night his heart rate begin to go from 70 to 170 and he was convulsing. The doctor came out of Carons room and told me straight forward, Caron had maybe an hour to live if they did not act right at that moment which was my free will. I said I am not God so I would not determine to let him just die. Caron received emergency surgery right in his hospital bed. He also received an emergency MRI that discovered his tumor came back with a vengeance. It was beginning to press down on the back of his brain. What we thought was going to be a hospital stay for a blood clot ended up being a second brain surgery for tumor resection. For the last 4 years this tragedy has taken a toll on our family. Everything has completely changed. This has been an extremely emotional and financial roller coaster. Caring for Carons dire needs have been extremely costly for our family. With trying to keep his head above water we had to change everything starting with what goes into his mouth. We went from shopping at Wal-Mart to Wholefoods and health stores. Helping my son to began to heal and build his immune system up to fight off disease became our number one priority. Just one of his vital vitamins for a 30 day supply is $90.00. To supply him with organic fruits and vegetables every week that ranges to about $200.00 or more a week. If he consumes unhealthy foods he begins to deteriorate so it's not an option for us because we want Caron to live and not go through this anymore. As a result of this lifestyle change for my sons life it has left us with having to choose between providing my son with what he needs so he won't get any sicker or being short on rent and trying to play catch up because of our fixed income. We have now been homeless for over a year. By the grace of God we have been living in a Hotel. This is where Carons hospital bed is, and where he receives all his care. We are a family of five and that is staying at the Extended Stay Princeton New Jersey. We have Currently been here a year and would like to be able to have a stable home for my son and two daughters and mother to live in.
We are living as a family in our one room and our family is in dire need. We have not been able to provide for Carons true needs and pay for our hotel room. Right now we are three weeks in arrears and have nowhere to turn for help with a special needs child. Caron was in the hospital in August for 63 days . Then he was hospitalized in October, November, December and January 2015. We are reaching out to you because our family needs your help. We are a very loving Christian family who has strong faith that Jesus Christ will see us through this storm. It says in the bible in 2 Corinthians: 13-15 'Our desire is not that others may be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn there plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, as it is written: He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little. Please help our family in a true emergency situation. If you would like to help our family
Thank You and may God bless you richly
