First Indian to Race Across America

Donation protected
On behalf of Team NAESER from INDIA and being the ONLY INDIAN CYCLIST and the 3rd Asian to participate in Race Across AMerica (RAAM), rider Sam Rizvi hopes to stand the test of endurance and determination by riding 3000 miles in 10 days across the USA, from the West (Oceaside, California) to the East coast (Annapolis, Maryland), riding through thetoughest terrains, Arizona desert, daunting Utah landscapes, grueling West Virginia climbs, withstanding unpredictable weather patterns, sleep deprivation and physical exhaustion.

This is the worlds most grueling race, tougher than Tour de France, and comparable to climbing Mount Everest thrice, back to back. Our team has been training and plans to participate in RAAM to create the much needed awareness in the cycling world about Indian riders, who scale heights of achievement and withstand tests of endurance through sheer determination despite poor infrastructure and lack of support for cycling as a professional sport in the subcontinent.

Our team has successfully completed RAAM 2010 with assistance from individual sponsors and a few corporate sponsorships on its first successful attempt at competing on the international platform.

We completed the Paris-Brest-Paris (a 1230kms race that is self supported) in August 2011, when Sam was the first Indian at the finish line completing the historic ride win in 74 hours 15 minutes, much within the stipulated 80 hours.

The team supporting Sam includes 10 endurance athletes who are dedicated, passionate and provide self-less support. We have trained harder and are ready to participate in RAAM 2012.  We are currently short on sponsors and lack the funds to participate in RAAM 2012. With your support and help, our team can realize this dream of competing in this world-class event and make history. We as a team believe that this participation in RAAM is possible with generous support from Kickstarters from around the world.
We have since trained harder and with first-hand knowledge and experience of RAAM, our team is confident in finishing the RAAM 2012 race within 10 days, creating history in the cycling world as the first Indian team to successfully complete this toughest test of endurance in the world, setting the bar for aspiring Indian cyclists at the professional level.

Please pledge and donate generously. Every dollar counts in making this dream a reality.
