Raised by 221 people in 15 months
Bring MLS to St. Louis. Show that there are people all over the St. Louis area that are willing to give their hard earned money to support this great opportunity.

Just to answer a few FAQ...

Q: What happens if the goal is not reached?
A: If the goal is not reached or the money earned can not be put towards helping fund an MLS Stadium, we will give the donors back their donations. Unless the donors see fit to donate the money to a St. Louis based charity(preferably a soccer based charity). This is of course tricky because we would all have to agree on one, which we can all come together as one and decide what is in the best interest of the donors, which we can all discuss once we cross that bridge. (Your charity suggestions are welcome in the meantime if we decide to go this route.)

Q: Is there a deadline?
A: As of now there is no timeline. As long as the page continues to grow and have traction we will leave this up in hopes of being able to personally make a positive impact on our great community.

Q: What if we receive a new stadium proposal?
A: In the event that we get news that there is a "Plan B" to build a stadium or another proposal to help bring an MLS team to St. Louis we will then either refund the donations back or put it towards charity as referenced above.

In the event this loses traction and the donations start to decline off we will then discuss what to do with the money raised. If we receive no input on what to do with the money raised, the donations will then be automatically refunded to the original donors.

Thank you for your support. #MLS2STL

Actually Kirsten, most do want it. Just had 30,000 people make the decision for 2.5million people. More people needed to vote, but on top of that more people needed to learn about the topic instead of just voting no because they 'don't like soccer.'

Special Needs Soccer Association (SPENSA) will gladly accept the donations if the $60 million goal isn't met. It's a 501c3 nonprofit soccer program for children 5-18 yrs old with disabilities including Down syndrome, autism, etc.

Too bad that $60 mill isn't going towards, say, the damages done by the riots a few years back... Or towards North County to reestablish a good name for it. Or to the homeless on the streets that are dying and starving. Too bad this isn't going towards better mental health programs or rehab facilities to aid in our growing drug problem. Too bad this is going to a stupid fucking stadium. As if Saint Louis needed another forum to be alcoholics and crazed sports enthusiasts.

You guys need to consolidate with the other group trying to do the same thing. You don't want people to have to chose which campaign to donate to!! I will donate if the groups are consolidated so my money is not wasted.

Need to get every contributor to challenge soccer supporters on FB and twitter to also challenge in hopes of getting it to spread like wild fire. It would also be helpful, in my opinion, to get some sort of blessing from the investmening partners that this is legit. I figure many people don't want to donate for fear of a scam. Just my opinion. Best of luck!

Elizabeth, he's probably referring to the Greater St. Louis area, which has a population of about 2.8 million. Yes they couldn't vote since it was city only, but the point is somewhat valid.

Amazing how people will donate for something like this! My mentally challenged sister in law was injured by what we believe was one of her health care providers and is actually being investigated by the state. We have incurred lots of bills from it and missed work and our gofundme account hasn't even raised 300. There are others in the same predicament. Let's donate for a stadium but ignore the homeless vets etc. Just amazing how people think.

The best way to support MLS2STL isn't through gofundme, it's by purchasing tickets to the STLFC games at Soccer Park. Plenty of tickets available for Saturday night. http://saintlouisfc.com/Single_Game_Tickets

I swear if I read another person that brings up using the dome. Are people really that ignorant of why that isn't feasible option or have they forgotten how to use Google. If you are not intelligent enough to stay up to date on the why's and how's you're prolly best to stay out giving an opinion because it makes you look like an idiot.

Anybody who hates on this, I ask, why you click on it than? This is for all the people who where wanting this, either had a say or didn't. We knew the benefits for having it. A little over half the 30,000 who had a vote, didn't understand it. That is a true fact. This brings in more money to the City by giving people another reason to visit it. Kind like a campaign make St. Louis great again.
