Life saving cancer treatment
I never had the slightest thoughts that I will be writing here. But here it goes….
In our struggle to make ends meet, my wife (Padmapriya) got an opportunity to work in USA.
As a result, Padmapriya the ONLY earning member in the family. Everything was good in the beginning.
But I never expected life had other plans in-store for us. One day in month of march 2018 while I was spending time with my 3 year old son (Prem) near our house, I received a call from her office saying she is unwell and we were rushing to hospital with my 3-year-old son only to know that my wife is in critical condition and will have to go through surgery for small bowel obstruction followed by treatment plan for myeloid sarcoma (A rare type of blood cancer)
The hospital started a series of chemotherapy sessions. To add to all the pain and agony, by July 2018 Padmapriya was diagnosed for blood infection which carried her to ICU and the infection was so bad that she was going through Ventilator-Dependent Respiratory Failure (VDRF), Sepsis, Acute Hypoxic respiratory failure, lung bleeding, liver injury and Diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (DAH, is a life-threatening and medical emergency that can be caused by numerous disorders), So had to be put on a ventilator support. By the grace of the almighty, she started responding to the medication after nine of unconscious sleepless nights. Few days later, her health started improving and she could hold her son again
Now to protect her from cancer cells, she is advised to undergo a critical life care procedure in October 2018, to transplant her bone marrow. Despite her body being very weak, she was able to manage her work as well as family solely because of her strong will power. In addition, all our friends and family are praying for her recovery
The procedure for bone marrow transplantation will be a huge expense that we be a heavy load for us to carry. So far, from march till August 2018 we were able to manage with what little we saved. But now I am compelled to extend my arms for help. I am making this humble and urgent plea from the bottom of my heart to please help us.
Anything that can help us to get through the cost would be wonderful. I also request everyone to please share this with your friends with a request to support Padmapriya
All funds collected here will go towards supporting Padmapriya’s treatment cost and to deal with all the baggage that comes post bone marrow transplantation
Aroun (Padmapriya’s husband)
Note: Any funds received are not for goods or services, but are monetary gifts to help support this cause
