Donna (my Mum) is 46, married and has 4 children. She is currently battling cancer and is in need of life saving treatment.

Donna’s Cancer Journey began in October 2014. Mum was first diagnosed with Cervical cancer which was a huge shock to the family because both my Dad and sister have also battled cancer. Mum’s first words when breaking it to the family were “We have all been through this before, so we can do it again”.

Mum and Dad spent many months in Brisbane while Mum received daily radiation and chemotherapy over the Christmas period 2014 to treat her cervical cancer diagnosis. In the 2015 new year, Mum's health was looking great and she was feeling well after a couple of months which was fabulous to see. We were all so happy that she had survived this journey that made our Christmas very different.

BUT it was June 2015 when she had a PET Scan that the results showed a tumour in the brain. WOW how can we be this unlucky? Mum had just endured such heartbreaking months and now to find out that it had spread to the brain. Unreal!

So within a week she was back in Brisbane and had surgery to remove the tumour from the back of her head. She was in ICU for a day and then spent a week in hospital recovering. She suffered many terrible headaches and sleepless nights.

Well now this time surely she had beaten such a nasty disease BUT no!

So it’s now January 2016. Mum is due for a PET Scan. Results are in!
Really!! She now has cancer in her leg, cervix, lungs and is travelling in her blood. How can this be?

So this is where I ask so kindly for donations. In order to receive life saving treatment – Avastin – we need to pay $30 000 + as this drug is not covered by PBS.
Any donation at all will be a help and will go towards paying to receive this treatment.
This is such a shock to my family and after dealing with this journey for nearly a year and a half, it is devastating.
