Earthquake

On November 30, 2018, Anchorage, Alaska was hit by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. Trevor, like many Alaskans, was caught off guard while at work, not knowing how what damage his newly purchased home might have suffered.

First Lieutenant Trevor Empey is currently stationed at Joint-Base Elmendorf Richardson in Anchorage. When Trevor was dismissed from work that Friday, he began his trip home to asses the situation at the house he had just signed papers on a month before.

Trevor’s normal commute of 20 minutes ballooned to more than 7 hours due to road damage and traffic. When Trevor arrived home, he found cracks in his walls, broken pipes, and appliances beyond repair, not to mention the personal belongings lost to the earthquake. Less than 24 hours later, he was informed by his home insurance company that his claim would be denied.

Trevor is a beloved grandson, son, brother, uncle, and friend and is always the first in line to help others in need. He is currently dedicating his life and wellbeing to the service of our country.

The holiday season is a tough time to find a little extra funding laying around, but if you have some to spare, Trevor and his family would be deeply grateful for any help you can offer. We’re only working to raise enough to get the most important repairs taken care of and If there is anything left over, Trevor is planning to help his neighbors get back on their feet as well. If you’re able to help, thank you. Whether you are or not, Merry Christmas!!
