The Now, In Color team is seeking funding for its third season.

The Project:
Now, In Color ( is a documentary web series aimed at expanding the notion of what it is to be Black. The project looks to counter the media's traditional monolithic construction and representation of Blackness by highlighting the diverse stories of different Black people.

In each episode, Clark Burnett and J. Joseph delve into their interviewee's interests, passions, ambitions, and motivations, with the series' trademark question, "What's in your cup?"

Seasons 1 & 2 of Now, In Color have focused on the Black community at Yale University, exploring a group that isn't normally considered by the media in representing Blackness. Each episode has focused on one person, showing in what ways their life and experience is unique.

Season 3 of Now, In Color will shift from focusing on the Black community at Yale and will interface with the Black community at large in America. Each episode will follow a different individual in their hometown as they discuss what's in their cup. Season 3 is being produced with support from the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale. Funding for Season 3 will go towards the production costs of expanding the scope and scale of the project. This includes travel fees, rental fees, and the addition of freelance filmmakers to the team.

The Team:
Now, In Color was created by Clark Burnett and J. Joseph, two undergraduate filmmakers at Yale University. The team also consists of undergraduate producers Karnessia Georgetown & Amani Hill.

The project began as a way in which the team could share with the world the wonderful and vibrant Black community at Yale, while at once highlighting the diversity and multiplicity in Blackness.
