Help My PhD at the North Pole

Hello everyone!
My name is Anna, I'm a 25-year-old PhD student and my motto is 'Dream Big'. And that was how my PhD project was conceived...

The project involves traveling to the Polish Polar Station in Hornsund, on the Svalbard archipelago (that's where the armoured polar bears are in 'Northern Lights'). The goal of my project is to examine and analyse the effects of extreme environments on humans. Extreme environments are environments where humans are not in their normal home environment, and they have limited possibility to communicate with their loved ones at home. They are also confined to a small space with their co-workers, and the outside environment can be very dangerous. Think: space stations, submarines, Antarctic research stations...my chosen environment is an Arctic research station, namely the Polish Polar Station, Hornsund on Svalbard.

Traveling to and from Svalbard can be very expensive. There are regular flights going to the island, but my participants are very isolated: the station is inside a national park, no roads go there and you can only reach it by boat, snowmobile or helicopter. 

Initially, the travel costs would have been:
16.000€ for the helicopter in winter
2.600€ for the boat in summer
1500€ for the flights in winter
300€ for the flights in summer

...so overall 20.400€!

You can see that the sum I put for the GoFundMe is 6.000€. That's because I was able to hitch-hike a training maneuvre for the helicopters, so they are 'only' 5800€, and I was awarded the Moray Endowment Fund, which gives me 2.000£ (=2600€). This brings me down to a sum of 12.000€! I'm hoping to receive more travel funds from the university as well as sell some photos to cover for the rest of the expenses.

This is why I'm asking everyone to help. Please help me fulfill my Big Dream and Send Me to the North Pole, to do my research. I'm passionate about my research: reading, writing, all that. And if I cannot reach the Polish Polar Station by helicopter in December 2015, I cannot complete my PhD and all the work I have done so far, my entire first year of PhD, would be for nothing.

I know it's a huge sum, and I'm trying to set aside every cent and penny that I can. And I'm not asking everyone to give me lots of money. But if lots of people could just donate me 10 bucks, or 5 or even 1...
