North Coventry Township K9 Program

Donation protected
After many years of dedicated service to North Coventry Township, its residents and neighboring communities, NCPD’s K9 Brox has reached a milestone and has officially retired effective March 21, 2019.  K9 Brox will happily live the life of retirement with his handler Officer Jesse Smith.  We wish Brox well on his retirement.

The North Coventry Police Department has had a long history of K9 units starting with K 9 Wax and his handler Corporal Paul Holliday in 1997. With the retirement of K9 Brox comes a new chapter and the department is in the early  process of funding a new K9 Unit. The startup cost of training and purchasing the new K9 is $15,000.00.

The K9 program in North Coventry Township is a very valuable and needed resource which aids not only North Coventry Township, but also surrounding communities.  North Coventry K9's have been utilized for public relations details, tracking of lost persons and objects, suspect tracking and apprehension as well as narcotics searches and detection. K9's also serve as a an added safety feature for officers working the street.

Currently, we are asking for assistance from the public in an effort to help fund a new K9 unit and as a result A Go Fund Me account has been set up to aid in this funding.  We are excited about the possibility of continuing the K9 program and we have future plans for the community's help in naming our newest member to the force.  We appreciate all of your help and look forward to the unveiling of our newest member should we meet our fundraising goal.
