Noodles Cancer Fund

$4,472 of $7,000 goal

Early January of this year, our baby Noodle was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The cancer showed up on the lip looking like a normal infection. However, it came and went away multiple times with the swollen lymphnode, so we decided to do extensive testing and the result came back as lyphoma.

After multiple tests to determine: whether the cancer is curable, what stage his cancer is at, and how agressive it is, at the same time of having the mass on his lip removed with multiple medications, his medical bills came up to over $3,000. Once his cancer type was determined to be curable and he might have a chance to beat it, we decided to fight with him. We were sent over the the Veterinary Cancer Group in Tustin. At this vet, Noodle was treated with chemo immediately and the treatments were over $400/ treatment every three weeks and $200/ follow up appoitment after every chemo. Because of this we did a fund raiser to help pay his medical bills. We raised over $4000 and we were hoping that would be more than enough.

Noodle was doing well with the first chemo treatment. But after the second chemo, the swelling on his lymphnode have a pattern on going down after chemo, and swelling up right before the next chemo is due. At this point, it's controling his cancer, which what we don't want. So we decided to do more testing to determine if he is a good candicate for lymphnode removal sugery, which he is. This surgery has higher sucessful rate in dogs in general, and as long as we have a chance to save him, we will try anything. The estimated cost of this sugery is over$3000 on top of additional chemo treatments following the surgery.

We are hoping to raise $7,000 to cover the lymphnode removal and the follow up chemo treatments for the months to come. We appreciate everyone that has been able to support Noodle finacially and emotionally.

Monday 4/9/2018 updates:

Noodle went in for consultation today and he was qualified for same day surgery. So we decided to to the surgery as planned.

Around 8pm, we got a called from the vet to notify us that Noodle had just came out of anesthesia and he is doing well so far. The surgery was successful and they are keeping him overnight to monitor vitals and to make sure there is no post op complications.

We were asked to call again tomorrow to see if Noodle will be ok for discharge.

Generally, surgeons want to remove a wider area around the tumor to be safe and take out as much cancer cells around the tumor as possible. Since this cancer was pretty aggressive and went straight to his lymph node to attack the immune system, we couldn’t do so because the location of the tumor is where most of the blood vessels are and it will be very risky to do so.

As that being said, Noodle will continue to be on chemo after surgery until the cancer is in remission. The amount of how many treatments of chemo is TBD.

We just want to say thank you to everyone who have been here for us with prayers, thoughts, emotional and financial supports to help us through this fight with Noodle. It means the world to us to be able to save him.
