Who doesn’t love dogs? It turns out, some of the very people who breed them.
Here in Iowa, we have the second largest number of high-volume dog breeding kennels called ‘puppy mills’, but our state laws to ensure the health and humane care of those animals are among the weakest in the nation.
We're Iowa Friends of Companion Animals , a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and we're working to help the 15,000+ adult dogs in Iowa's ~220 puppy mills. We're working for stronger laws but we need educated voters.
That's why we need public outreach programs, print materials, a great web site, social media, billboards, and a mix of media advertising — and all of those things cost money.
But if a lot of people give just a little bit, we can get the laws to make sure these deserving dogs get a better life, here and in other states.
