"No Energy East" 2nd Billboard

Donation protected
May 18th, 2016 Update:
We have received feedback about the billboard and the desire to have a message that is more closely linked to the environmental concern at hand. We have responded and the second billboard will read:
              Clean water
                      No pipeline
                              Stop Energy East

With the support we have received, we have successfully raised funded the billboard on Hwy 17 coming west into North Bay. It has been up since June 2015 and we are continuing to require the money to rent this space and keep it up. In addition, we are asking for increased help to put up another billboard coming south into North Bay on Hwy 11.  We reduced the above total due to the $600 in donations received from the April 26th, 2016 event.

Why a second billboard? Keep reading...
North Bay's drinking water is threatened by the Energy East Pipeline. You can stop it from happening.

Who we are: We are people who live in North Bay who realize that a dilbit spill anywhere in our watershed can have negative implications for the water we drink and the quality of life we have here. We volunteer our time and all the money donated goes into resources or rent.

What we are doing: We are renting a second large billboard on Highway 11 to be seen when driving south into North Bay to put up a sign that reads: Oil and water don't mix.

The first billboard has already increased community discussion - thank you for making this possible. Communities north of North Bay have a significant role to play in the efforts to stop the Energy East Pipeline from shipping dilbit.

What the money goes to: The cost for the billboard itself is $2100 and then $175/mo.  We are hoping to raise enough funds to keep it up until the Energy East Pipeline project is permanently cancelled.

What you get out of it:  The satisfaction of raising public awareness on an issue as critical as the water we drink.  You will be assisting our North Bay community to respond to a threat to our city and our beautiful natural surroundings.  We want the lakes in our watershed to continue to be a high-quality source of drinking water and an abundant source of enjoyment for anglers, swimmers, canoers, rowers, boaters, cottagers and more for present and future generations.

After you donate, here is what you can do: Please forward this link so that others can support you in this endeavour to protect your drinking water.
