Noah's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Our son, Noah, had a tragic accident on January 13th, 2012 that led to him having an esophageal stricture. The inside of his throat is covered in scar tissue and this prevents him from being able to eat most anything. Noah will soon turn 5, and he has been suffering with this since he was 1 and a half. Every two weeks from the time the accident occurred, we have been making bi-weekly trips to Birmingham to Children's of Alabama hospital to have his esophagus stretched so he can swallow. His main source of nutrition is pediasure. He has bravely endured well over 65 surgeries, and after careful consideration we have made the decision to have an esophageal replacement surgery performed on our sweet angel in hopes he will no longer have this problem. The doctor will completely remove the damaged esophagous and use his stomach to form a new one. We are expected to have an extended hospital stay away from family and home. If everything goes as planned the recovery time in the hospital will be 3-4 weeks. This surgery will take place on March 30th and will be extremely extensive. I made this account with much hesitation, but the funds raised will go directly to help with total cost of the entire hospital stay, and a few goodies for Noah from the gift shop that he might want while recovering :) considering he will need many things to take his mind off of the pain and take his mind off the fact that he will not be able to eat or drink for at least 7 days post-op. Thankamount you feel in your heart to donate will help tremendously! Thank you all that have followed my precious sons journey, and that have continually prayed for and over him. Without the prayers I know he would have not come this far! He is the sweetest, bravest, most loving little boy. Hopefully, total recovery is in the very near future for him! May God truly Bless You All :)
