Battle of the Lear Fundraiser
Noah is only still with us thanks to his amazing friends Trenton Dunford and Andy Randolph. These boys stayed calm in the face of tragedy and called 911. Meanwhile their friend Michael Hernandez help hold Noah's head so that all of the blood would not run down his throat and choke him. Then at the hospital Dr. Tinchner and his amazing E.R. nurses kept Noah with us until the life-flight arrived to bring him down to Children's. All of these people are heroes.
Noah's traumatic brain injury (TBI) is worse than first thought. Although he has brain activity and is breathing on his own, the part of his brain that controls his heart and blood pressure has been damaged very badly. Due to this, he was moved this past weekend to a hospice care facility. He has been made very comfortable there and his tremors have been controlled better. He has been fighting for his life for 17 days now. He has survived this long against all odds. Unfortunately he has not come out of his coma and they do not expect him to be with us much longer. He is still fighting though.
Money raised through this campaign and through the benefit being held on April 2nd will be donated to the family in order to help pay for the unexpected costs they have been enduring through this tragic, surreal experience.
Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for all your support.
I am so sorry for all the family and friends of Noah and have been praying daily for each and everyone involved. I just wish I could help financially but have been out of work for 13 month after a stroke in Feb. 2015. I do not know anyone affected and live in Clyde Ohio but please know my Deepest Sympathy to all! May God embrace you and hold you up with strength, grace and love.
I don't personally know anyone in this, but when I saw this on the Chicago news it broke my heart. No one should have to suffer through this, especially when it never should have happened in the first place. I have shared this page to friends and family. I know every little bit helps. You don't have to endure this alone.
Sweet angel Noah, rest in peace and may God's special holy spirit bless this family. Our hearts break with yours and we pray that you find comfort in your faith knowing you'll be reunited with your sweet child.
It put a smile on my face when I read your update today. I have been praying for Noah and his family and so have my family in Ariz. I was so sadden when I found out about Noah's passing, I kept talking to Lance at night who is now in Heaven to send a whisper to God to help Noah and his family. I am so sorry for your loss to all the students, friends and his family. We have a basketball set up at our home and now I will be having it inspected before it will be used, I just cant grasp how Noah and his friends were out having fun and how a simple game of basketball took Noah's life, I feel inspections of all equipment should be done on a regular basis so that this does not happen to another person. Rest In Peace Noah! Your Community loves you!
We have been praying for Noah, you and your family. We learned about his accident Tuesday and our hearts just sank. Last year our 14 year old daughter was critically injured in a car accident, massive head trauma, life flighted, ventilator, coma. Although our outcomes are different our journey was similar, I'm sure in many ways. It's surreal and horrific. Please know that you have our deepest heartfelt sympathy . Our hearts just break for what you are going through and what you have been through. We will continue to pray for you all! Love and prayers from the Schafer family, Andy, Wendy, Nick & Allie #teamallie
