Noah Poquiz 529 Benefit

As many of our extended group now knows, Maritza Poquiz (a senior member of our night-shift RN colleagues), recently found out that her husband Jason was involved in a devastating vehicular accident. Sadly, Jason was fatally injured in the event and is no longer with us. 

In times like these, many of us look for things that we can do to help and certainly Maritza's friends and family will be supporting her as best they are able. Rather than sending flowers or notes of condolence, one thing that we can do to help is to look toward the future and try to provide Maritza with some security for her son, Noah. 

To that end, we are setting up a GoFundMe account specifically to raise money for a ScholarShare 529 account for Noah Poquiz. Donations can be made anonymously and, at the end of the fundraising effort, Maritza will be able to use the money raised to set up Noah's college fund or to cover other emergency expenses. No one should feel pressured to donate at all, but for anyone who is looking for a way to help this is a worthwhile effort to make on behalf of a good friend and colleague.
