Backstory

New Year's day 2019 did not go exactly as we had planned.  I recieved a text from my daughter Kaitlin saying she was having stomach cramps and her back was hurting so she was going to the hospital to get checked out.  Once she finally saw a Dr.  we got a phone call stating she was 2 cm dialated and even though she was just 23 weeks pregnant she was in active labor.  I rushed immediately to the hospital to be with her where my very brave girl was in a great deal of pain and beyond scared for her baby.  They started her on a bunch of medicine to try to stop the labor which was successful for a couple of days. The whole time at the hospital almost every DR that came in the room told us if she had the baby at 23 wks he wouldn't be viable and that 24 wks was really the time they are able to save premature babies.  This whole time my 22 year old daughter was truly one of the strongest people I had ever seen.  She was in so much pain and wanted nothing more than to be home and not in a hospital bed but she laid there exactly how she was supposed to, to try to keep baby Noah in for as long as possible.  They say 1 day inside is like 3 days in the NICU.  On January 5th in the evening we were informed that the medicine had stopped working and Kaitlin was now 5 cm dialated and back in active labor with contractions that were about 4 minutes apart.  She fought through labor and tried to still give him a little more time even though she was in so much pain.  On January 6th around 3:20 p.m.  Noah decided he couldnt wait any longer. And even though he was breech was born without a C Section and came out feet first just kicking and showing his strength and will to survive.

Noah who was born on January 6th 2019 at 23 weeks and 5 days, and only weighed 1 lb 8 oz at birth, is Kaitlin and Kyles 1st child.  Noah is such a fighter he came out of mom kicking.  Since his birth he has already had two surgeries which he is recovering from currently.  The first surgery was to remove and umbilcal catheter that had ruptured and the second was the repair his intestine. We realize that the next few months are going to be a rollercoaster of emotions until Kaitlin is able to bring Noah home.  Noah will be in the NICU until at least April 30th 2019 which is his original due date.

I am starting this campaign to help his mother pay for things that Noah will need.  He has a long medical road ahead of him at this time.  In the event that we raise more then what is needed for Noah's care we will start a college fund for him.. below is a pic of Noah right after his first surgery to remove a ruptured umbilical catheter.  We have a Facebook page with daily updates I have attached the link Noah`s Facebook updates .  All money raised via this campaign will go to Kaitlin Garrett.
