Cancer Treatment for Chris Ferrugia

Our brother Chris represents most average American families.  A self employed contractor and sole provider of his family. As with most of us, health care became unaffordable in 2017 and the healthcare we did have wasn't accepted by most hospitals or pharmacies.  Their policy was not renewed as the new premium doubled in cost for the same do nothing coverage.  On 9/19/18 Chris was diagnosed with lung cancer. At the time of his diagnosis he was in severe pain and at 6'1 weighed 112 lbs. MD Anderson in Sugarland, Texas set up a treatment plan for immediate radiation and chemo in order to save his life. Unable to work, there is no source of income.  We applied for financial assistance through M.D. Anderson as a Texas resident; however, the financial business department would rather lecture his family on how not to run a business than provide any type of assistance.  It appears he qualifies and all documents as requested have been provided, yet with every passing day, they cancel his treatment.   His two doctors have requested a medical override only to be denied by the financial business office. We've been told repeatedly, treatment is not being denied, yet our brother has not received even one treatment.  M.D. Anderson states, either pay in full $75,000 for just radiation or they will not treat him.  

Life continues to be challenging, with our dad just passing away on (10/18/18),  Chris was unable to attend his service. We are reaching out to anyone who might offer an alternative solution or help us raise funds to meet M.D. Anderson's demands as he now weighs less than 100 lbs. An artery wrapped around the tumor has caused his head to bend over to his chest. He remains in severe pain and in critical and immediate need of treatment.  We are grateful for the many prayers and blessings for Chris.
