No Bullying Short Film "Tormentors"

Across the nation, bullying and harassment is on the rise amongst children under 18. An annual report “Bullying, Harassment & Intimidation in Maryland Public Schools” shows 12-year-olds are the most likely to be victimized on the way to or from school.
While the news media broadcasts the negative news, Cordell Forbes, Jermaine Powell Jr., Erin Bowman, Isaiah Benjamin are four Maryland teenage participants in the Youth Writers Rock. Youth Writers Rock empowers children across Maryland to stimulate their creative and critical thinking skills. The talented youth discovered the power of the pen and benefits of collaboration by addressing Bullying head-on while earning the right to proclaim themselves as published authors. The Tormentors, written from a teenager’s perspective, portrays the realistic world of bullies, their victims, the motivation driving the bullying behavior, as well as practical coping skills gained from the author’s experiences.
This GoFund Me fundraiser is to turn The Tormentors into a short film, featuring youth actors, shot in Maryland. The goal is to present the authors’ anti-bullying message around the state of Maryland and our nation. You have the power to help us spread hope and encouragement to the youth, the most vulnerable population. To bring this important story to the screen, we need financial support from people who believe in this project. We endeavor to show this film in schools throughout the nation and through various channels.
