Nike's for the Kids of Kenner, LA

Donation protected
The Mayor of Kenner, Louisiana has banned Nike’s from Booster Clubs in the city, as publicized in a leaked memo.  I do not kneel during the national anthem, however I love this country and I particularly love every one’s right to freedom of speech, to question wrongs and to strive for a more perfect union.  I want to support Colin Kaepernick and I also want to support Nike for standing with him and for doing what they think is right despite the possible financial backlash.  Most of all I support our Constitution and every freedom it provides us.

With all this in mind I want to raise money to provide Nike shoes to low income children and teenagers in Kenner, Louisiana.  If you feel like I do please make a donation. The Mayor of Kenner used his position of power to punish Nike.  We believe this effort is rooted in hatred and lack of empathy.  We have decided to counter that hatred with an act of love.

Please give $30-$50 for a pair of shoes.  We will document each and every distribution.  If you have shoe connections or want to help please let us know. If you feel that Nike is wrong in their support of Colin Kaepernick’s freedom of speech,  I respect that as well.  God bless!

The Pastor Kaseem Short and the Thomas United Methodist Church, a mainstay of the Kenner community for 135 years, have agreed to help us distribute the shoes to children in need.
