Fuel Night\Shift Placehacking Fest!
NIGHTSHIFT Placehacking Festival is downtown Kitchener’s free walkable collision of participatory pop-up art & performance, launched in 2013. The fourth annual version happens November 1st to 5th, 2016.
NIGHTSHIFT commissions both local and regional artists, makers and organizations of many stripes to reimagine downtown venues – indoor and outdoor, public and private, small and large, obvious and obscure – with multidisciplinary visual and performance art, bright ideas and mind-opening interaction.
The festival transforms the city core into an arts-fuelled playground where citizens can connect, and empowers creators of various sensibilities and citizens from various subcultures to collectively reimagine pockets of their physical environment, share rare communal experiences, and spark unexpected collaborations.
NIGHTSHIFT is also entirely volunteer run on a shoestring, and all of its programming is offered for free and/or PWYC entry by donation. In order to make the festival happen, we're asking for your help to cover unanticipated costs, look after our volunteers and give a little more thanks to the festival's key contributors.
