Capturing Hopes Photography (CHP) is an organization based in the Winston Salem area of North Carolina that provides free photography for families of preemies at hospitals nationwide in the neo natal intensive care unit (NICU). www.capturinghopesphotography.com
The vision of the NICU Camera Project is to equip hospitals with the professional equipment and training to be able to provide professional photography for families when needed, anytime of day or night. While CHP does provide photographers in 37 States for regular NICU photography upon request, we admit that we cannot be there for every milestone, holiday, or middle of the night special situation. By providing the NICU staff with adequate equipment and training, this is something they will be able to provide for the families any time it is needed, day or night. This is especially important in bereavement situations when a professional photographer in the area is not available.
Capturing Hopes aims to raise enough money in 2015 to provide 5 NICU's with the equipment and training to provide this important free program to families. Setting up 5 hospitals with the model on how this brand new program will work will enable Capturing Hopes to expand in 2016 to more hospitals nationwide, with the goal of reaching every NICU hospital with this program withint the next few years.
