Donation protected
We would like to begin by extending a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has come together in support of Jimmy, Paula, and Savanah (and the dogs too); you are amazing people helping amazing people in a time of need.  Paula and Savanah will feel very supported and loved reading the kind comments left for them here.

Please see the bottom for updates on conditions and more information about the author of this page and our connection to the Nickersons.

What happened?
On the night of January 14th, 2017, tragedy stuck the Nickerson Family of White City, OR. A house fire totalled the home, and sadly, a beloved figure of the local community has passed away. Jimmy was able to rescue his wife Paula and their niece Savanah, but sadly Jimmy never made it back out of the engulfed house. One of their three dogs were rescued and suvived.

Paula was initially induced into a coma and is fighting to recover from severe smoke inhalation related conditions. Now out of the coma, she is still hospitalized and has a long road of healing; both physically and emotionally. She lost everything; even the clothes on her back. Paula lost the love of her life, Jimmy.

Savanah has been flown to the  burn center in Sacramento and has burns covering 45% of her body. She is in stable condition, and those at her side say she is staying stong. Savanah is currently a college student studying in Klamath Falls, OR. She was visiting Paula and Jimmy for the weekend when this tragic event occurred.

Jimmy was a well known member of the Medford community. With the help and support of amazing friends and family, Jimmy passionately started Elite Power & Fitness in 2011 in Medford, OR.  Jimmy also once held the state championship and world record for dead lift. He was well known for his contagious positive attitude and motivating inspiration towards others. The loss of Jimmy will be felt across the community. Here is a link to more information about Jimmy.

NO amount of money will help undo this awful tragedy and loss. We are hoping that $50,000.00 will help Paula and Savanah finacially stabilize enough to begin picking up the pieces, when they can.

UPDATE- We made it to $10,000 within the first two days!!- lets keep it going!!

50k will help significantly with the realistic cost shock that the Paula and Savanah will incur. If we can raise more, then we can help comfort them that much more.

All funds rasied by this effort will be distributed between Paula and Savanah.

Condition Updates:

Paula is now out of the hospital and with her parents. She continues to heal with family and friends supporting her. For more detailed information on Paulas condition, please visit the following facebook page, "Prayers for Paula"

Savanah is in stable condition at the Children's Burn Center in Sacramento. She has limited ability to communicate, but the family at her side says she is staying strong. Her surgery last week went well, and the medical staff says she's meeting all of her benchmark goals.

Savanah will be in the hospital at least a couple months for her recovery. There's a closed-group facebook page for Savanah, and if you consider yourself family or a close friend, please request to join. Savanah's sister Kristine has posted items on this group site that we are able to purchase for Savanahs new room in the hospital. The name of the group is called "Savanah's Healing Board ".

Thank you again for all of your support.

About the Author(s):

My name is Matt Cox. I am in a loving relationship with Courtney Lambert and we have a child together; his name is Rilyn and he is 15 months old.

Jimmy was Courtney's cousin and she wanted to do something to help, so did I. Nothing will bring a hero back once they're gone; We understand that. But, we started this Go-Fund-Me page to support Paula and Savanah in order to bring the community together. The support you've all shown will go beyond any amount of money when it comes to the grieving and healing processes Paula and Savanah will endure. This is going to be a long process for them. All I can say is, you have all really pulled through as a supportive, compassionate, and truly loving community- Thank you.

Our hearts started this campaign. Your hearts are driving it beyond success. Jimmy has been an inspirational mentor in Courtney's life since the day she was born. She's very thankful for that. Paula and Jimmy also helped Courtney with a place to stay when she was in school taking her nursing exams; she's also very thankful for that- it helped her get where she is today.

It seems the Nickerson's have had more funerals than anything else in most recent years. The good memories still keep the families close.

Jimmy was an amazing individual, and his legacy will live on to inspire all of us. As an outsider, I (Matt) can see from the amazing outporing of support and love from everyone, Jimmy has touched the lives of many individuals; and that- will never go away.

~Matt Cox & Courtney Lambert~

God Bless and thank you again to everyone for your continued support for Paula and Savanah. You are all awesome and we are all very grateful for your help.
