Nick Remillard Funeral and Memorial

On Sunday, June 11th, Nick Remillard was taken from this Earth. As we mourn, we remember a young man who defined his time here with love that extended in all directions.

His love of baseball drove him to his dream of playing the sport at the collegiete level.

His love of his Great Dane, Apollo, built a bond between them that was evident to everyone they met.

His love of those around him brought countless friends.

His love of community made him integral to the Gambier Dog Park Family, where his absence leaves a hole too large to fill.

And most of all, his love of family showed his character as a man of compassion, caring, and commitment.

"...the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs." - George Eliot, Middlemarch

Written nearly 150 years ago, these words showcase timeless truths as we reflect. Nick built a life of genuiness, kindness, humor, and love. These components created something more than the sum of their parts, and the world is lesser for its loss.

We ask those who can give to do so as we prepare to say our goodbyes to Nick.

Nick Remillard. Our friend. Our brother. Our son.
