A Leg Up for Nick

We are calling on community, friends, and family to help create a financial safety net for Nick, Joan, and their family as they move through the coming days and weeks. In the span of a few short weeks, what started as a painful lump on his right leg has progressed to a rare sarcoma diagnosis. 

A few weeks ago, Nick began to experience severe pain in his leg. He could barely walk, but trucked around town, trying multiple doctors, trial medications, and even waited two weeks for an MRI. When the results returned showing a mass, and the biopsy was cancer, it was a shock. Since his diagnosis, Nick has had consultations with specialists and has learned that the most optimistic treatment regime is to amputate his leg. If you know Nick, you know that living life to the fullest with Joan, Nathan, and Hagen is the only option, so he is powering ahead full steam to surgery, with his trademark Nick positivity turned up to 100. 

Being self-employed, it is hard to create a safety net for when the unexpected happens. Help us provide some financial stability to Nick and Joan so Nick can focus all his energy on healing and adjusting. Nick's relentless optimism and generosity is a gift to all who know him - he's the cheesy and upbeat deejay (who wants to continue to work as much as possible!), the devoted husband, father and uncle, and beloved brother & neighbor.
