High-quality public space is essential to creating and maintaining a high quality of life in our city. Toronto is growing and intensifying rapidly, but our public space infrastructure is failing to keep pace.
Together we can change that!
The Nicholson Lane Revitalization will transform an underused laneway in the historic St. Lawrence Market area from a dead space into a vibrant meeting place. It will use public realm upgrades and new mobile activation spaces to create a destination for everyday use and rotating cultural programming by local organizations.
This new paved park has been planned in collaboration with, and will be stewarded in the long term by, local organizations including the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA, Canadian Opera Company, Canadian Stage, Jamii Esplanade, St. Lawrence Community Recreation Centre, and St. Lawrence Daycare.
But we need your help to make it happen! As a sponsor, you will help to buy and install public realm improvements, including lighting, wayfinding, seating, greening and murals, and cart-mounted performance space for local community use.
We hope that you'll help to bring Nicholson Lane to life!
