Newport Half Marathon for Rotary

Donation protected
Hi! I'm Sophie, a 22 year old Media Production student from Wrexham, North Wales.

In July 2016 my future mother in law set up a brand new Rotary Club in our town. Rotary is an organisation made up of 1.2 million volunteers around the world who dedicate their time to help the community in a variety of ways. With my grandmother in law, mother in law and fiance already involved how could I resist getting stuck in myself.

Our Rotary club has already raised thousands of pounds for several different charities by putting on community events. Now it's my turn to do some fundraising. I have decided to run the Newport Half Marathon on 5th March 2017 to raise money for charity. Blood Bikes Wales is the Rotary Club of Wrexham Glyndwr's chosen charity for this year. The NHS uses its own transportation system to move blood supplies, plasma, documents and other items between hospitals during the day on Mondays to Fridays, however between 7pm and 7am on weekends and on bank holidays this service stops and the NHS use the police, the ambulance service, taxis and couriers to carry the vital supplies. You can imagine what this costs the NHS. This is where Blood Bikes Wales comes in. Their volunteers provide the NHS with out-of-hours transport saving substantial sums which can be used for frontline patient care. It is estimated that for each pound Blood Bikes Wales receives in donations, the NHS will save at least five pounds. SO LET'S GET FUNDRAISING.

Any donation is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much.
