Home for the Homeless with TLC
TLC is Ventura County's only full-time, all-volunteer animal rescue. We have long struggled to find a permanent home in the past 7 years where saving dog and cat lives is not a temporary thing, but a permanent passion and cause. Commerical landlords do not like to lease to rescue organizations and we know a permanent place of our own will be the solution to many of the obstacles we have had to overcome, which distract us from the mission of saving lives.
We now have the opportunity to buy a place of our own and continue on with our work, but we need the community's help for the down payment on the property, which is right here in Simi Valley!
If this property purchase cannot happen, it is a very good chance that TLC will fold and go out of business once and for all, but your donations will be refunded back to you if we do shut down TLC.
If we can all make this happen, it will be a hometown legacy for us and for our children plus their children's children, knowing we cared enough to stop the needless killing of healthy, adoptable dogs and cats, creating and maintaining No-Kill in Ventura County!
Keeping our paws crossed.... On Tuesday, we are looking inside a potential property to lease with option to buy here in Simi Valley... We don't have enough for a down payment on any commercial property, but it is our hope this location will work out and we can negotiate terms to at least lease it for now and (hopefully) come up with the necessary funds to buy it down the road. ::Paws crossed::
We are now looking at land right outside of Simi Valley and this will require us to not only buy the land, but to purchase a prefab building as well. Any help you can give will be GRATEFULLY appreciated!
TLC Rescued a little boy I found running down the middle of Cochran Ave.. Scared he would get Hit, several of us chased him down and caught him.. That was Carl six years ago, TLC was full and couldnt take any more rescues but they took him anyway, thank god because I already had 5 and couldnt take another.. Then a couple years ago after we lost a few of our furbabies, I stopped by and saw poor little Bungee a dog who was caught between two fighting dogs and had his skin ripped off him, He was not the prettiest or the friendliest kid on the block and he had been there for 8 months and no one wanted him, so we took him home.. And he has been such a thankful, greatful old guy ever since.. We feel very privledged to have been able to get him..
