Hey all.
For those who may not know me, my name is Marc. I am attempting to raise funds for a trip to New York Comic Con. Mainly I just need it for the hotel fees, which I hope I can raise half of myself. However as I expect the fees to be around $600, I don't think I can get the full amount ready in just three months. I didn't expect to be able to go to this year's show at all, so imagine my surprise when I was able to succeed in getting in on the professional pass, as I am a self-published author.
With this being the case, I need to gather enough funds to cover the hotel stay. This is where I hope you will all come in.
This would mean a lot to me. Usually I have been able to rely on a mixture of help from family plus saving up a considerable amount myself each year. Things have been rough on the family though, as both my grandparents recently passed away. That has made money tight for them, to the point where the hotel can only be done through saving up on my end, meaning I will need to save up basically 3-400, counting travel expenses, and 300 of that has to go to the hotel.
I have attended New York Comic Con since roughly the 2008 event, and this will be my tenth year attending. I LOVE this show. I don't know how better to say it. I take photos and— when possible in recent years— video at the event. At least some of which I try to post up on Facebook or YouTube. I have been more active on that in the last year or so. And I am more than happy to do so this year to let you guys know the donations I hope to receive from you did not go to waste.
I need the funds by no later than August 15th, as I need to pull them from the bank before October, so I can then contact the hotel and set up the dates for my trip as well as purchase bus tickets.
All donars will receive a personal thank you on my facebook and twitter pages, as well as a thank you on youtube once the show hits, as I will try to do videos from the show and give you all an idea of just why I enjoy it so much.
Again, this show has been part of my life for a solid decade. All help will be appreciated. Thank you all in advance for reading this, and I hope to be able to show just how much the event means to me via video and photos.
