New Heat and Cooling Unit

Last week, my air conditioning stopped working. It is part of a heat pump unit in my double-wide (on a permanent foundation). The weather here in western NC has been extremely hot, and the house is very very hot. We have been using fans, but they are not replacements for airconditioning.

My housemate and I are both pushing 70 - under 3 months for me. I am diabetic and my health overall is not good. We are both on fixed incomes - Nicky is disabled and I am retired, with social security and NC pension. 

I have tried two companies, neither of which is interested in helping me because I cannot qualify for financing. They will not negotiate any other way.

I am in a bind unless I can raise money to help pay for the replacement. I hate asking once more for help, but I can't get relief soon enough without your help.

I would appreciate help more than you can know -- or maybe you do. I don't know if I can seriously make it through the summer without substantial relief.
