Prince Solms upgrade and the New Braunfels new 18 hole disc golf course fundraiser
Welcome to The Tri County Disc Golf Club
In collaboration with the City of New Braunfels Parks & Rec Department, The Tri County disc golf club, and The Prince Solms disc golf association we are seeking to increase the safety and playability of the 9 hole Solms Disc golf course. First and foremost we want to improve the existing course by pouring concrete tee pads and upgrading the baskets to pro level.
Our second goal is to establish an 18 hole championship-level disc golf course at a location to be determined within the city of New Braunfels, Texas.
Our collective goal is to raise $16,000 total for both projects. This fund money will be used for course installation, and would also be used to purchase materials needed to install baskets and concrete tee boxes. In addition, funds are for the clearing of woods for fairways and professional design costs. Tri County DGC represents an ideal opportunity to install a championship-level disc golf course due to location, shade, available water, bathrooms, and food. A full 18 hole course is long overdue and we are running out of room in the city if we don't act, and act fast! The city is currently making big long-range plans for the city parks and recreation and we will no longer have future options if we don't get moving now.
Go to the udisc app, select courses, then type in comal greens in the search bar. Here you will see a preliminary layout and one of the potential locations for the course. We are working with the city to evaluate this location at the Dry Comal Creek trail but considering other locations as well.
Disc golf is a fun, affordable sport that is accessible to people of all ages and skill levels, and a course at The Tri County DGC would provide recreational opportunities for both the experienced and novice player. Help us to grow disc golf, one of the fastest growing sports worldwide!
