Rest peacefully, Scrappy

Scrappy is an 8 year old Labrador Retriever. On 09/24/2016, she became very ill. Her owner, Gary Nolan, rushed her to the Diley Hill Animal Hospital. Scrappy was seen immediately and after taking some samples and drawing blood, the diagnosis was in. One that every pet lover dreads. Gary was told that Scrappy had been infected with Leptospirosis. In dogs of any age that become ill, the leptospira spread rapidly through the pet’s blood stream, usually causing high fevers, depression and joint pain. Leptospira produce powerful toxins that can attack the liver and kidneys, leading to failure of these organs. Strains of lepto vary in their intensity and in the portions of the body they attack most severely. Some varieties primarily cause liver damage, while others concentrate in the kidneys. In Scrappy's case, her kidneys are failing. She has been on 24 hour care at the hospital. To continue the care Scrappy needs, Gary needs your help. The bill has already reached $1000.00. The thought of losing Scrappy is unbearable and Gary is doing all he can to come up with the money to pay for her treatment.
