Neema and Rosie were just 12 years-old when they had to make the most difficult decision of their young lives: agree to undergo the terrible ordeal of female genital mutilation and child marriage, or risk their lives and leave everyone and everything they love behind and run away to a Safe House.
Now their stories of bravery feature in the documentary “In The Name Of Your Daughter” about the Tanzanian battle against these harmful traditions.
The film will premiere at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen on March 20th, 2018, and we want to bring these beautiful little angels, now 13, to Copenhagen so they can tell their stories, in their own words, to children their own age and to the world. Rosie and Neema are smart, wise, courageous, and determined to raise awareness and help make female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage history in their community.
Neema and Rosie’s mothers have given permission and are fully supportive of this proposed journey, but they need money for their flights, other transportation, food and organization of the trip from Northern Tanzania to Denmark.
Please help them to raise awareness about FGM and child marriage in the whole world!
