Hi friends, I thought I'd update the status, mum is in palitive care in LGH, but likely will be moved to Melwood palitive facility. We have been told only to expect a couple of weeks. Sadly we can see the deterioration in her health and general wellness. We had a close call on Monday evening, but she has hung on a little longer. We thankyou all for your ongoing support and continual encouragement. Obviously we need to limit visitors, but please contact us if you have an concerns or questions. Dads surgery was successful, sadly he's had little attention as mum has needed our focus. **It seems important to update our progress. David is in Melbourne getting ready for his surgery tomorrow. Unfortunately he has had to go alone and his wife, Meredy, was diagnosed with Accute Myeloid Leukaemia on Saturday the prognosis is not good. Obviously this has rocked the entire family to the core and is a devastating blow. The past 18months has been such a tough time, with unthinkable things happening to members of the family, beyond their control. We are so thankful for the support, friendship and kindness shown** As many of you know, David (affectionately Dad to a tribe of us) is a fighter, he's been battling years of ongoing health problems, including Luekemia, mental illness and chronic back pain (which resulted in a back fusion several years ago). Dispite this, he and Meredy have taken so many people under their wings, they've been the rock people phone when THEIR life is falling apart.  David's been the voice who says the prayer and calms the situation when things felt hopeless.  They are the ones who will jump on plane,  send you the money, give you a place to stay, be the listening ear, heck, they'd give you the shirt off their back. Over the past 18 months, this couple have been pushed to breaking point and beyond, for reasons they cannot control. People really have the power to distory or restore. Right when they physically and financially cannot take another hit, David needs urgent neck surgery on the 1st of August (the day before their 39th wedding anniversary).  The surgery is and neck fusion, that needs to be performed by specialist in Melbourne. Although they have private health, they still need to cover a $12600 gap, not to mention the additional costs of treatment interstate.  I know, if you know  David and Meredy, you would have experienced their generosity, even if you don't, you may one day.....please find it in your heart to give.
