On February 24, 2015 a fellow friend and co-worker was involved in a horrible train accident. This is the kind of accident all of us Engineers fear. After departing Metrolink station in Oxnard California his train hit a truck on the tracks cabcar first. The conductor and his student engineer both sustained injuries but were released that day after receiving treatment. Glenn on the other hand was not so lucky and is still in critical condition. We have created this gofundme account to help him and his family in this terrible time of need. We thank you for all your support and prayers.

I am Glenn's cousin and my Mom was Glenn's Aunt. I live in Alabama and have lost touch. But I will always remember how proud my Aunt Rose and Uncle Fred were when Glenn became an engineer at the age of 21. He was a great guy and you, I know, are proud to have him as your father.

Glenn, you were always worth the wait for the last seven years from the time you said she likes trains out of the cab to our last conversation in December 2014. I was so much looking forward to talking to you this weekend but now I shall have to wait till God introduces us again. You are always going to be my hero and you are the very best. Thank you for taking me so seriously and answering all my questions no matter how small. I probably surprise you sometimes but you always answered my questions. Rest in peace number one engineer. Your friend queen of bells out. Miss you

By staying in his cab-control car and riding the emergency brakes on Train No. 102, engineer Glenn Steele sacrificed his life to save the others on his train. To me, Glenn Steele is a true American hero.

RWBF would like to make a donation in the amount of $1,000.00 to the Glenn Steele Family. Railroad Worker Benefit Foundation, Inc. was founded with the idea of Brother and Sister Railroad Workers helping one another in times of career ending injuries. Thousands of fellow workers have contributed as little as 25 cents per pay period to help fallen workers in time of need. Our sincere condolences are offered to his entire family.
