Native Rights MI

Donation protected
Native Rights MI is a collective formed as part of the Michigan Coalition Against Racism in Sports and Media. We work to educate and promote positive and healthy understandings of Native-American people. Along with this, we mainly target school race-based mascots and names in Michigan that are harmful to Native children and communities, promoting racism and stereotyping of multiple ethnic groups of Indigenous people. We work to share information about the challenges and positive impacts Indigenous people face that are invisibilized.

We are currently working to remove the name "Redsk*ns" from schools. This includes putting up educational billboards like the photo shown, and organizing nonviolent and prayerful demonstrations to ask for acknowledgment of our civil rights as the First People. Your donations helps us to do this, making a stand for Native children and our communities as we work to heal from trauma caused by the violence to our people.
