Natasha's Project to Walk

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Brent and I am trying to help my beautiful girlfriend Natasha raise the much needed funds to send her overseas for advanced treatment on a rare progressive degenerative neurological disease .... (similar to progressive MS).

Without intervention treatment her health will continue to decline – physically and mentally. I can’t stand by and watch this happen, so I have started a “gofundme” page to help Natasha!!

Natasha has a rare degenerative neurological disease (similar to progressive MS) that she contracted 13 years ago. Whilst her health and mobility has slowly declined since contracting this disease, her health has deteriorated over the last few months so much so that she now sometimes struggles to walk even with a walking stick. Natasha is now living with constant severe nerve pain and muscle spasticity and her general quality of life has suffered dramatically. She will hate me for mentioning that she has also suffered and struggled mentally as does anyone who is sick and suffering from a progressive neurological disease or disorder. Natasha is unfortunately unable to work due to her health and relies on disability pension – making paying a mortgage and bills a challenge - forget trying to afford this treatment without funding!!

We have undertaken a lot of research and have found the best treatment clinics in the world that offers the most advanced treatments available with a 94% success rate with similar cases. This treatment will give Natasha a better quality of life (pain free) and slow or stop the progression of the disease. If she doesn’t receive this treatment soon, her health will continue to decline and so too her quality of life.

This treatment costs a lot of money, so this is where we need your help and support!!

The Illness;
Natasha’s disability is rare and really has no name to it.
She first became sick in March 2003. The first viral attack paralysed her from the chest down. After extensive testing they told her she had Acute Disseminated Encephalo myelitis.  After 4 weeks of being in hospital, Natasha went to rehab where she was told to prepare herself that she would never walk again. Natasha was very positive and wasn't going to let that stop her from learning to walk again!!
After 6 weeks of being in rehab, she had a relapse that gave her inflammation on the brain and also suffered from double vision, slurred speech and migraines.  She was sent back to hospital. Natasha finally recovered from the relapse and spent every day learning to walk again.
She finally walked out of the rehab with a cane and went home to unfortunately have another attack that paralysed her down the right side this time - yet more hospitals, testing and rehabilitation learning to walk!

To this day her diagnosis is somewhat of a mystery and very rare.

2003 to 2005 – walked very well unaided however had spasticity and nerve pain.

2005 to 2013 – had to use a cane to walk and was increasingly becoming a little weaker with increased spasticity and nerve pain.

2013 to 2016 - the nerve pain and spasticity continued to increase  with some days now being unbearable, especially at night where Natasha is suffering from pulsing and electric currents running down her legs.

In January 2016 she saw her Neurologist, he said that she has all the symptoms of progressive MS without the lesions on her brain or spine but her illness is a mystery. Closest diagnosis to date is that she has a slowly progressive neurological disability”.

A little bit about Natasha;
Natasha is a beautiful 42 yr. old woman and mother of a 13-year-old teenager, Savannah. She has been both mum and Dad to Savannah with a limited support network. She unfortunately lost her father at a very early age and grew up with her mother and older sister on the Mornington Peninsula. A couple of years after Savanah was born, Natasha then lost her mother to Cancer. Natasha is normally a fit, healthy and very social person and great friend to many with a real love of life. She is an inspiration to me and everyone that knows her!! She has a big heart and a beautiful smile that can just light up the room!!

A donation and/or sending her page to your friends, family and your network …… we can make this happen!!

My heartfelt thank you for helping me make this beautiful woman’s life a better one!!
