Natalia's Fight with Cancer
Natalia is one of those people who lights up the room with a contagious smile and an open heart. She's a fighter who is always pushing ahead and working hard to help the people around her.
Earlier this year Natalia was diagnosed with stage 1A breast cancer at the age of 25. Thankfully it was caught early and she is progressing well in her treatment. Now our whole family is focused on giving her the strength and support she has always given us to fight through this battle and get through it stronger than ever.
As many people will know, even with health insurance, costs for cancer treatment rack up quickly and only a few months in she has reached her deductible. Many people have asked how they can help, so with humility and a thankful heart we would love some help from our friends, family and community members to help lessen the financial burden both on Natalia and our parents as she continues this fight.
Natalia's Battle Plan
So far, Natalia has met with several specialists, including oncologists, surgeons, and a holistic doctor. She has had multiple MRIs, several biopsies, lab tests, mammograms, vitamin shots and so on, all on top of her recent (successful!) surgery in May.

Because of her young age, she has also had to see fertility and oncofertility specialists to have her eggs frozen before starting chemotherapy. Many people do not realise that fertility treatment for oncology patients is generally not covered by health insurance, so these high costs (including annual fees) are being covered out of pocket.

With her oncofertility treatment now complete, Natalia is getting ready to start 12 weeks of chemotherapy and 33 sessions of radiology. Following this she will need to take medication for the next 5 years, with frequent check ups with her oncologist.

As Natalia will turn 26 next March (in the middle of her treatment), she will have to change insurance so it's hard for us to estimate how much on-going treatment and medications will cost. However, we know these will more than likely increase.
Between co-pays, surgery, fertility treatment, medication costs, vitamin shots and general costs for on-going treatment, we estimate her total treatment will cost $20,000 out of pocket.
Your donation, no matter how small, will help cover these accumulating expenses both in the immediate term and over the next few years.

Quem conhece a Natália sabe que seu sorriso é contagiante e seu coração é puro. A Natália é uma batalhadora,sempre afrente de um novo projeto e sempre ajudando aos outros.
No começo desse ano, aos 25 anos de idade, a Natália foi diagnosticada com câncer de mama estágio 1A. Graças à Deus, o câncer não espalhou, e o tratamento está indo bem. Juntos vamos vencer esse câncer.
Embora a Natália tenha um seguro de saúde, os custos do tratamento continuam altíssimos. Muitos nos perguntam como podem ajudar, humildemente e com um coração agradecido nós estamos pedindo que vocês como família, amigos e a comunidade, se juntem para ajudar aliviar esse fardo que a nossa baixinha está carregando. Chegou a hora de nós, de braços abertos, ajudarmos a Natália do mesmo jeito que ela sempre nos ajudou.
O Plano de Batalha
Nesses últimos meses a Natália tem consultando vários médicos, especialistas, oncologistas, cirurgiãs e um nutricionista. Ela fez múltiplas ressonâncias magnéticas, biopsias, testes e mamogramas, culminando numa cirurgia bem sucedida que removeu o tumor.
Em função de sua idade e do fato de não ter filhos, ela também optou por visitar uma clínica de fertilidade para congelar seus óvulos. Existe o risco da quimioterapia atrapalhar a eventual possibilidade de ela ter filhos. O seguro não considera esse procedimento como “necessário” e por isso não cobre os custos que a família teve que absorver.
Graças à Deus, o tratamento de fertilidade foi bem sucedido e a Natália conseguiu congelar 33 óvulos! Nas semanas por vir, ela ira passar por 12 semanas de quimioterapia seguido por 33 dias de radioterapia. Após a conclusão desses tratamentos ela vai ter que tomar um serie de remédios por 5 anos.

Em Março do ano que vem, e no meio do tratamento, a Natália ira se tornar 26, o que pela lei Americana impossibilita ela de continuar no plano de saúde de seus pais. É difícil estimar o quanto os custos médicos irão aumentar. A única certeza que temos é que eles vão aumentar consideravelmente.
Se juntarmos os custos das visitas médicas, cirurgia, remédios ,tratamento de fertilidade, e os custos de monitoramento após o tratamento, chegamos a um total de 20 mil USD que o seguro não vai cobrir.
A sua doação, independente do tamanho, vai ajudar a cobrir esses custos tanto agora como nos anos por vir. Qualquer coisa ajuda.
