2018 NRG Practice Space Fund

For eleven years, the Nashville Rollergirls have been a proud and vital part of the Nashville metro area’s sports and athletic community. We are Nashville's only women's roller derby league, a non-profit organization dedicated to our mission to empower women to reach their highest potential as both athletes and leaders.

Our members - who also own and operate the league on an entirely volunteer-basis - are committed to inclusion and diversity.  We strive to create a space where anyone who shares our values, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, body shape or size, socio-economic, or disability status can thrive.

We believe in the power of our sport to inspire and encourage all persons in our community to reach their full potential. But we cannot do this without consistent, affordable access to space where we can practice and hold events. As real estate prices in Nashville have climbed, our options for affordable space have dwindled.   

Currently, the Fairgrounds Sports Arena is our only home, and is quite literally the only cost-effective space in Nashville that meets our needs, given the constraints of the nature of our sport and our insurance requirements for large, clear-span spaces.   We do not know what the future holds for this space.  Without it, and in the absence of an affordable alternative, we cannot keep the spirit of roller derby alive and well in Nashville.  

So, in 2018, we renew our search to find permanent and affordable practice space in the metro area.   A place we can call home.  We cannot do this without the financial support of our community.
