Nancy's Gift

As some of you may or may not know, Nancy Lavoie has made the decision to selflessly volunteer to donate her kidney to her friend and colleague.
Eleven months ago, Nancy’s friend’s kidney function began to fail to dangerous levels. Immediately, Nancy offered to be tested to become a kidney donor, but just because the blood type was a match did not mean that she would automatically be able to be donor. After several months of specialized compatibility testing, doctor’s concluded that Nancy would indeed be the perfect kidney donor.
People like Nancy, you only meet once in a lifetime. You would be very fortunate to call her your friend. Giving of herself is nothing new for Nancy. Nancy has been an enthusiastic volunteer for American Red Cross, Hospice, and Healing Hearts to name a few and an event coordinator for Relay for Life fundraisers for many years. Donating her time to various charities and performing fundraising events made Nancy feel truly fulfilled. She loves helping others and giving them peace of mind. Nancy is the kindest, most gentile, compassionate and give-the-shirt-off-your-back kind of person you would ever want to meet.
The money we are trying to raise will help Nancy with the loss of her wages while she is off of work recovering for at least 6 weeks. The funds will also help with ancillary medical expenses that come with a major transplant surgery as this.
