Donation protected
Nancy E. Martin, 71, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run on Friday, December 16 while crossing East Main Street in front of her residence.  She was struck at about 8:15 p.m. traveling west.

Police said the lone witness at the scene described the suspect as a Hispanic male who was driving a small, dark blue or black vehicle.

The witness said the vehicle did not slow down or stop after the impact and continued west on East Main Street. Nancy was transported to Saint Mary's Hospital where she died shortly after arrival.

At about 10:30 p.m., East Main Street between Orchard Street and the entrance to Brass Mill Center was closed while forensics and the accident reconstruction team were working.

An investigation is underway.
