Help Us Build Nalongo A Clinic

After a lifelong career as a government midwife, Mary "Nalongo" Kamya retired from her job and set up a clinic in her own home in the rural district of Lutengo, Uganda.

Nalongo (which means the mother of twins) now delivers babies in her rural community and works hard to educate the women she lives amongst through teaching them family planning and women's rights as a mission to empower them and shape the future of her village.

Nalongo has a dream to one day build a clinic that offers more to her community. Something permanent that will be there to help mothers for generations to come. We hope that with your help we can help make this dream come true!


Together, we hope to raise enough funding to build a permanent clinic which would provide women in the Lutengo district with the level of health care they deserve for themselves and their babies.Here are just a few of the many benefits a new clinic will provide:-Testing for STDs and viruses
-A cleaner environment to deliver babies
-A place to mentor and teach the next generation of  nurses and midwives
-Access to family planning
-Multiple beds for expecting mothers

If we're successful in raising enough funds to build the clinic, we'll work together with the head Doctor of Nalongo's district (see him in the film here: https://vimeo.com/211249267) to see the building of the clinic from start to finish. 

Through our contacts on the ground, we'll be able to provide photos and updates throughout the build! 

Please note that donations are in Canadian dollars which means each dollar donated will be approximately 75 cents USD.
