Nahieli's fight w Hodgkins Lymphoma

If you've ever met Nahieli you know what a beautiful person she is truly is. She is the kind of person that would do absolutely anything for anyone without hesitation. She's selfless, compassionate, loving, and such a hard working girl. 4 years ago she married my best friend, As hard as it was to let him go, this jealous sister was happy it was to this beautiful soul. I have never seen him happier than he is with Nahieli.
They recently purchased their own home and adopted two puppies. Their life seemed perfect and going as they had planned. I was so proud of all they were accomplishing together and then the unthinkable happened.

On September 13th 2016- I got an alarming call from my brother telling me that Nahieli had noticed some lumps on her neck that were painful. She immediately went to the doctor and had blood test and an X-ray done. I still remember my brother calling me that day, he couldn't fight back the tears. My heart sank. He said the test results came back with abnormal findings and more tests were needed. The X-ray revealed she had masses not only in her neck but they had also traveled to her armpits and into her chest. At that moment their lives had changed. She soon had a biopsy done of the mass on her neck. The results revealed she had cancer. After further testing , CT scan and PET scan, a final diagnosis was finally made, she had Hodgkins Lymphoma, stage 2 Cancer. Our families were devastated and couldn't believe it. That same week Cancer Centers of Austin called her and she was scheduled for a implanted catheter to immediately start Chemotherapy. We knew she had a long, rough road ahead of her but prayed for the best.

Luckily she had medical insurance at the time to help cover some of the costs but even with medical insurance their bills have started to add up. Between co-payments, large deductibles, medication costs, travel expenses to and from treatments, and her lost wages since she cannot work, the bills have started to pile up. My brother has also taken several days off of work to accompany her and hold her hand as she gets her Chemotherapy treatments and days after she recovers. My brother Ivan is a humble man and is not one to ask for help but Nahieli's insurance recently threatened to remove her from her insurance unless she worked at least 30 hours per week. She however, under medical advice from her doctor was told she could no longer work since she works in a pediatric clinic. Without an immune system to protect her, working around children is not feasible.   She has several grueling months of treatment to go and will not be able to help financially to sustain their household.  This is one of hardest working couples I know. If Nahieli could be out there working she would. She loves her job but unfortunately her health has to come first right now. They shouldn't have to be worrying about where the money for their next deductible or the next treatment is coming from.

Today, I am not only asking you for your prayers but also for any monetary help you can provide my brother and sister In law. Please help with any amount if you can. Every cent counts. No amount is too low. Our entire family thanks you and appreciates you. Let's help Nahieli beat this. By the grace of God, I know she will overcome this horrible disease.  We love you Nahieli.  Stay strong.
