My name is Clare, I am a single mother of one teenage son. I am appealing for financial aid on Gofundme as my debt situation has got out of hand.
After a horrific housefire on 11/11/15 in Mullingar, my teenage son and I have been living in a small apartment with a terrible black mould situation that threatens our health. We are looking for alternative accommodation for this length of time, to no avail.
A freelance artist/facilitator by trade, I have found myself unable to make ends meet! Having lost practically everything but our lives that day-now three years on I have had to bow my head, swallow my pride and ask for help in financial assistance on here from the public. I have maxed all the possible loans and credit unions I could avail off to try and survive. I was hopeful that my work may flourish and I would be able to repay these debts in time-now reality strikes me very hard!
I've went on BTW but have been unsuccessful in keeping this going. Now on jobseekers, one morning art class a week, in huge debt with incessant bills coming in as a lone parent-I find myself literally at my wits end!
The cover photo I've used shows the smile I put on to disguise the true reality of the deep sense of loss, fear, hopelessness and worry that this situation now puts me in. It has me paralysed at times, not knowing what direction to go or what path to take. I have got to think positively and try my best to move on and be strong. Hopefully doing this public appeal might help us turn a new leaf.
I thank God for my gift of creativity and have enjoyed teaching. Places are limited in Mullingar to show or sell my artwork and believe me I have tried, every avenue. I must admit (quite uneasily) that the struggle I've found myself in, in these past few years, have mentally taken its toll on me quite significantly. I can only hope and pray that things can get better for us in the not so distant future.
I am appealing to the public at large to hear my plea and take some of your precious time to consider this family, that finds themselves in dire straits at this time-(with a trusty, loyal dog on tow!)
